September 2024 – Washington, D.C. – Annot Inc., a U.S.-based non-profit dedicated to unlocking the potential of young people worldwide, is proud to announce the appointment of Tatenda Mujeni to its Board of Directors and the addition of Advisors who will play a critical role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction and global impact.
This leadership expansion reinforces Annot Inc.’s commitment to its mission of empowering young people through education, youth initiatives, and diaspora engagement. By integrating expert perspectives from diverse fields, Annot aims to bolster its leadership capabilities and advance its goal of fostering knowledge exchange, community engagement, and innovative solutions to youth challenges both in Africa and globally.
New Board Appointment: Tatenda Mujeni
Tatenda Mujeni has over a decade of experience in global health, equity, and systems strengthening. Currently pursuing her Doctor of Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Tatenda also holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University. Her career spans multiple African countries, where she has focused on disease prevention, health systems strengthening, and protecting low-resourced communities from financial risks in healthcare. A Co-Founder of the African Women Leaders in Health (AWL) at Harvard, Tatenda’s commitment to gender equity and health system sustainability will be pivotal in guiding Annot’s strategic growth. Her expertise will significantly strengthen the Board’s focus on equitable global education and healthcare systems.
Advisory Council
Annot Inc. is thrilled to welcome distinguished Advisors whose expertise will shape the organization’s future strategies and expand its global reach:
1. Michael Goldstein – Michael served as the Chief Academic Officer at Bridge International Academies, which launched over 500 elementary schools in Kenya, Uganda, Liberia, India, and Nigeria. He is an Advisor at the Harvard Innovation Lab and the Founder of Match Charter School in Boston. Currently, he works on various K-12 and post-secondary education projects. His experience in teacher coaching, parent engagement, and curriculum development will enhance Annot’s educational programs, including its host families initiative and youth learning centers.
2. Marc Alain Boucicault – Founder of Banj, Haiti’s largest coworking space, and a social entrepreneur with 15 years of experience in entrepreneurship, technology and international development. Marc Alain’s experience working with the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, MIT, and youth empowerment organizations will be key in guiding Annot’s efforts to nurture young leaders and foster innovation across Africa.
3. Crystal Rugege – Managing Director at the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Rwanda, a partner of the World Economic Forum Network for Global Technology Governance and a leader at the intersection of technology, education, and policy. Crystal serves on boards such as Carnegie Mellon University Africa and I&M Bank Rwanda. Her experience will help Annot drive tech-enabled education solutions for youth.
4. Anywhere Sikochi, Ph.D. – Assistant Professor at Harvard Business School, Professor Sikochi brings expertise in financial reporting, credit risk, and organizational structures. His insights will help Annot foster youth entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, essential to the organization’s mission.
5. Dalumuzi Mhlanga – Founder & CEO of Notto Inc., a Rhodes Scholar and impact investor with experience in telecom and education across 50 countries. Dalumuzi’s work in leadership and entrepreneurship development aligns perfectly with Annot’s vision of empowering young people across Africa and beyond.
